The Call

The awaited news came on June 26th that Sam has been accepted into the Air Force and will be reporting for duty on October 2, 2012.

There are mixed emotions, but I am so proud of the young man that he has become.   With all that has happened in his life, he has decided to put them all behind him and to make a good life for himself.  The experiences he has already gone thru has made him who he is today and has allowed him to make a decision about his future.

He signed up for six years and will be headed to basic training in San Antonio, TX.   He will be training for Security Forces and hopefully make his way into the Special Task Force.  I know that he will be able to accomplish whatever he puts his mind to.   He bragged that he would be able to retire at 41 and still have time to fulfill his other lifetime dreams.

His father and I support him with his decision and promise to continue to lift him up in our prayers.   We covet prayers for him also from our friends and family.

May he use this opportunity as a mission field like he did a few years back when he went to Tokyo, Japan on a mission trip.

God Bless my son and our country.
